Schkitz #2
video projectionThough both its theme and work method relate it to Schkitz, the artist’s exhibition in Tűzoltó utca, Budapest, 15 years ago, the piece Komoróczky presented in Irokéz Gallery was entirely new.
The form of the work is created by the presence of the objects, “the things” in the same space; which is to say the forms, colours, proportions, rhythm, references and meanings of “the things” can be read to form the same frieze, scripture, cipher, music, meaning combination, formula.
The formal and conceptual correlation of the acoustic installation, video projection, various objects and texts presented at the exhibition assume an extra-logical structure.
In themselves, the elements that make up the context have vague meanings, are difficult to identify, which removes them, to a certain extent, from the realm of an aesthetic that is conceptually comprehensible; will subjects itself to the unknown, so that each can incarnate the other.
“The things” and their mutual influences exist on a level that is below the sign, the consciousness, where the influence they admit is not spiritual intuition or inspiration, but suggestion, mania or compulsion.
Schkitz #2 is essentially a new challenge of compulsion, where in the minimal-zone of the fundamental elements only the sketch is adequate enough: the attempt to show what does not yet exist, or what has not yet assumed this constellation; or on the contrary, to show that the cohesion has broken, and nothing has been left from the frame but the gaps between the elements.
